2006年頃、夢の中で眉がつながった奇妙な風貌の男と出会ったという女性がニューヨークの精神科で多発。彼女らの証言をもとにモンタージュ写真を作成し、公開したところ、ニューヨークに限らず、ロサンゼルス、ベルリン、サンパウロなど世界各国で同じ男を見たという証言が多発し、その数は2000人を超えた。謎の男は「This Man」と呼ばれた。
