Emily Anne Somers was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area. Beginning as a ballerina, Emily transitioned from studying dance to focusing on theater and singing, performing in various productions around the city.
She attended the American Conservatory Theater's Summer Training Congress in San Francisco and the British American Drama Academy's Midsummer in Oxford program at Oxford University to supplement her training at the University of California, Davis, where she graduated with honors in Dramatic Art and highest honors in American Studies.
While at Davis, Emily appeared in several Mainstage productions including Noises Off, directed by acclaimed director Jules Aaron as well as an award-winning production of Death of a Salesman under the direction of Kent Nicholson.
After graduation, Emily moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. She's starred opposite 珍·斯马特 in the Horror/Thriller feature Awaken the Shadowman (2017), worked with 杰拉德·巴特勒 as Dawn in 加布里埃莱·穆奇诺's film 情场玩咖 (2012) and was the lead in the popular indie thriller Reboot (2012). Emily was also nominated for Best Actress in a Short Film at the Madrid International Film Festival for her role in Soulmate (2013). Additionally, she appeared in a multi-spot national Subaru campaign and a national commercial for HBO GO. Emily booked a role in the 亚当·桑德勒 feature 桑迪·韦克斯勒 (2017), along with multiple National VO spots of Pacific Life and OurTime.com.
