Furankî Sakai was born on February 13, 1929 in Kagoshima, Japan as Masatoshi Sakai. He was an actor and producer, known for 摩斯拉 (1961), 幕末太阳传 (1957) and 写乐 (1995). He died on June 10, 1996.
Heavyset comic actor who often appeared with Ishiro Arishima as Laurel and Hardy types until the latter's death in 1987.
In addition to acting, he was also a jazz drummer.
He attended Keio University.
Beginning in the early 1950s, he had a jazz band known as "Frankie Sakai and the City Slickers.".
