William B. Davis was born on January 13, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as William Bruce Davis. He is an actor and director, known for The X-Files (1993), X档案 (1998) and 死亡地带 (1983). He has been married to Emmanuelle Herpin since 2011.

Unlike his character on "The X-Files," he is an avid non-smoker and is vocally skeptical of paranormal beliefs, serving as a spokesman for both causes. However, both he and his character are atheists and water-skiers.

Two daughters, Melinda and Rebecca, from his first marriage. Rebecca runs the Rebecca Davis Dance Company in Philadelphia. Melinda is completing a specialty in cardiology at Ann Arbor.

He has made guest appearances on all three of the longest running North American science fiction series: The X-Files (1993), Stargate SG-1 (1997) and 超人前传 (2001).
